"Thirty Minutes from Here"
DVD loop, 2003
In any city where commuters travel the same routes over and over again, repeatedly passing through familiar places in familiar ways, these routes cease to exist as fore-grounded spatial experiences and fade into the blurred backdrop of a daydream. It is during these daydreams that time expands, and the mind travels beyond the fact of the landscape passing by. When jerked back into the reality of the commute, this recent separation from place changes our perception, and our surroundings - suddenly viewed without the context of what came before - are no longer familiar. price upon request
