Toni Scott
"Dancing Colors"
Painter/Sculptor/Digital Artist/Photographer
Toni Scott is as vibrant and passionate as her artwork. A California native, Scott is a versatile artist in various media, including sculpture, painting, photography and digital design. Scott’s credits are as diverse as her art. Her paintings and sculptures have been acquired by numerous private collections, appeared in international exhibitions, and been featured in several major feature films. Her photography has been published in major newspapers and national magazines.
Expressive, creative, and prolific with a brush, power tool, camera or computer, Scott has sought to express her love of God, Beauty, Humanity, and the African American cultural legacy in every work she creates. She has pushed her artistic vision to master levels, completing giant sized woodcarvings, a collection of life size realistic busts, large scaled figure sculpture, large-scale paintings and digital collage. Each year she travels to Italy to perfect her skills in marble and alabaster carvings.
Complimenting her sculpture are expressive paintings inspired by journeys to the Louvre and Prado Museum, culminating in classical oil renderings representing the beauty and dignity of African American people. Her photographic credits include a Grand Prize from American Photo Magazine. Earlier this year, her digital rendering entitled “Bloodline,” which recounts parts of her family history through authentic documentation back to 1703, was accepted for exhibition at OCCCA, The Orange County Center for Contemporary Art.
Though primarily self taught, Toni Scott received training from Otis Parsons Art Institute with additional private training from Master artists. Her artworks have been shown throughout the world. Toni Scott is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
