Kai has been living in Los Angeles (originally from NY) for the past three years.  He has a background in fine art & video and moved to LA where he completed the graduate film program at Art Center College of Design.  Rather than focus on film, he is instead incorporating video and cinematic elements into his paintings.  The subject of his work is the portrait/figure and the universal emotion carried with it.  Drawing inspiration from cinema, fashion photography and silent films, Kai fuses video and stop motion with his paintings to create a new experience for the viewer, showcasing the artistic process as well as the work itself.  He has been represented in numerous group shows and galleries in Los Angeles and Pasadena.

GALLERY AT THE END OF THE WORLD is a semi-"collective" gallery at the top of Lake Avenue in Altadena. It is a destination gallery because, anyone who drives that far to get to the gallery is going to settle in to stay for a while. We throw magnificent 4-day Opening Receptions on the 1st weekend of every-other-month, and we are the founding gallery of the new Altadena Art Walk.
